Browned Butter Butterfinger Blondies.

The name itself is a bit of a tongue twister.

These blondies are EXACTLY what your taste buds have been looking for all their itty bitty lives.

Well, at least my taste buds.

A soft, chewy, slightly gooey cookie base exploding with that deep, rich, almost nutty browned butter flavor. They bake up absolutely perfectly with their nice crackly tops, similar to brownies.

And ohhhh….the Butterfingers….man, oh man, oh man.

Let me just say that Butterfingers and browned butter belong together. The rich nutty undertones of the browned buttery dough combined with the peanut buttery sweet and saltiness of Butterfingers is a holy experience that your taste buds will thank you for.

Each. And. Every. One. Of. Them.

You might think I’m being a little melodramatic with these statements, but YOU GUYS. There is no such thing as being melodramatic when it involves browned butter.

No. Such. Thing.

Surprisingly enough, these blondies are an absolute cinch to make. ANNNNND you won’t have a ton of dirty used dishes to clean (fist pump!) because the dough can all be made in one saucepan. Simply brown the butter (slowly and gently), add the sugars, then the egg and vanilla, and finally the flour, baking powder, and salt. Chop up a few (or a baJillian 😉 ) Butterfinger bars, then fold them into the dough. Plop it in a pan and bake!

I even baked these Butterfinger babes up on one of my Afternoon Live appearances. Check it out!

That’s it!

See? It’s so gosh-darn-ding-dang-dong flippin’ easy. Plus, you should already have most, if not all of the ingredients in your pantry.

That means that you have absolutely NO excuse NOT to make these for your loving and adoring friends and family.

And for those of you that don’t have any “loving and adoring” friends and family, or if you just don’t like people in general (welcome to the club), I have an even better idea…

Make them ALL FOR YOURSELF.

Problem solved.

Prep Time 20 minutes

Total Time 1 hour 3 minutes
Course Dessert
Cuisine American
Servings 12 Squares

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cup Butterfinger, chopped (or 9 fun-sized bars)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF, and line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper. Spray with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. As the butter melts, it’ll start to foam, then turn a clear golden color. Continue to stir the butter, scraping up any browned specks from the bottom of the pan as it starts to brown. It should have a nutty aroma.
  • Once browned and nutty, turn off the heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  • Whisk in both sugars, the egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Switch to a wooden spoon, add the flour, baking powder, and salt and stir until just combined. Try not to overmix. Fold in the chopped Butterfinger.
  • Turn batter out into prepared pan, spreading batter evenly with a rubber spatula. Bake for about 20-23 minutes, or until edges are firm and golden and the center jiggles slightly; do not overbake. Blondies firm up as they cool. Cool in pan for at least 20 minutes before cutting.
